The Adventure in the Making

My childhood dream is quickly becoming a reality. Since the first time I heard a mission story and from the first time I set foot on a plane on my first short term mission trip, I knew that I wanted to become a missionary. Next year I have been given my chance. In about 3 months I will be boarding a plane to Malawi Africa and making a huge change in my life. I can say without a doubt in my heart that God has called me to this spot of the world. I walked into the student missions office at WWU with the plan that I was going to be doing medical work in a Spanish speaking country. Now look where I am heading, the complete opposite. So many doors have already been opened to get me to where I am now, and I can not wait to see what else He has in store for me.

A little information about what I will be doing in Malawi...My main purpose is going as a school teacher for a small school for the doctor and expatriate children who live in the area. I will be joined by a girl from Southern Adventist University, who I can not wait to meet. The school is a multi-grade school with children ranging from 1st-8th grade. Since there is an Adventist hospital near by I would absolutely love to able spend a fair amount of my time there as well. There are so many unknowns about next year, which kind of scares me but makes me want to experience them first hand even more.

I am not the most talented writer, so please have patience with me. My hope is this will be an easy way for all my family and friends at home to be able to know what new adventures I am experiencing. Thank you for all the prayers and support!! :)
